Governor Rick Scott has declared November 15, 2015 to be Retired Educator Day. This day is to “celebrate and recognize Florida’s retired educators for their dedication to empowering students and strengthen our local statewide communities.”

In addition to the State’s recognition, our local governments and community are also celebrating Saint Lucie County’s retired teachers with special recognition.
Following is a list of events that will show appreciation for the retired teachers of Saint Lucie County. Please plan on attending to show your support.
On November 2, 2015, the City of Fort Pierce will recognize our retired teachers at their monthly meeting. Meet at 5:30 p.m. at City Hall. Wear your SLCREA shirts.
The Saint Lucie County commissioners will also recognize our retired teachers at their meeting on November 3, 2015 at 6:00 p.m. Again, meet at 5:30 p.m. at the County Administration building wearing SLCREA shirts.
On November 10, 2015, there will be a special recognition at the Saint Lucie County School Board Office. The meeting time for this event will be 4:45 p.m. Show your spirit by wearing your SLCREA shirts.
One more special recognition for our retired teachers will be held on November 15, 2015 at The Crossing Church. The service will be at 11:00 a.m.
All of the above events are scheduled to honor our retired teachers and all of the contributions they have made to the schools, students, and communities of Saint Lucie County.
